In
2000 the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce DIHК
and the Association of Balkan Chambers existing since 1994 and in which the
national chamber organizations from 10 countries from South-East Europe are
members, have proposed a joint initiative for long-term partnership. The
financial support for the realization of this partnership project is provided
by the government of the Federal Republic of Germany through the Federal
Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is
running for already more than 6 years. In the beginning it was planned to
have only a phase of 3 years, finishing at the end of 2003. Due to the
success of its work and the requests of the project partners, it was
prolonged for a 2nd phase of another 3 years till the end of 2006, and with
another 3 years till the end of 2009. The Project provides the opportunity
the European know-how, esp. the German know-how to be easily accepted and
adopted to the conditions of the Balkan chambers. Though it has 10 partners
on different stages of development, structure and characteristics, the
Project succeeds in finding the right attitude to satisfy the needs of each
and every
partner. |
